The grade scale it uses
Each letter grade has grade points. Multiply the points by the credit hours, add them up and divide by the total credit hours. A lower number is a better GPA.
| Grade | Grade points | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | 0.7 | Excellent |
| A | 1.0 | Excellent |
| A- | 1.3 | Excellent |
| B+ | 1.7 | Very Good |
| B | 2.0 | Very Good |
| B- | 2.3 | Very Good |
| C+ | 2.7 | Good |
| C | 3.0 | Good |
| C- | 3.3 | Good |
| D+ | 3.7 | Satisfactory |
| D | 4.0 | Satisfactory |
| F | 5.0 | Fail |
The cumulative GPA falls into one of four bands: Excellent (0.70 to 1.54), Very Good (1.55 to 2.54), Good (2.55 to 3.54), Satisfactory (3.55 to 3.70). Honors tiers run from Highest Honors (0.70 to 0.99), High Honors (1.00 to 1.29), Honors (1.30 to 1.69). Language courses and a few other cases count differently. See every rule or check the official grading key.
